Founder of the company's Pixel Qi, Mary Lou Jepsen has demonstrated a prototype of a tablet with ultra-low power, able to be powered by a built-in solar panel. The gadget is equipped with a hybrid display, able to work in color and monochrome, from consuming 0.5 watts to 2.5 watts of power. The prototype also used low-voltage processor, a motherboard with ARM. In theory, the device can be powered by an inexpensive solar panel cost about three dollars, generating about 1 watt. Will the unit sometime in sales, Pixel Qi is not specified.
