Marketplace exceeds the 25,000 applications

In just 9 months, the virtual store dedicated to devices running Windows Phone has reached the significant of 25,000 applications. Beyond the considerations related to program quality, the fact remains that the Marketplace has and even higher growth trend in the Android Market. 25,053 of downloadable apps, well 1,981 were included in the virtual catalog in just two weeks. 18% of applications are of the category “Games” 12% “Books & Reference”, 11% “Entertainment”. Further consideration should be made as regards the price at which they are sold: the 12,842 apps are free, representing 51% of the market and only 7,486 (30%) as a fee. The remaining 19% consists of programs in trial version. The margins are wide development and the only aspect on which Microsoft and developers have to work harder is to increase th average quality of the applications approved.
