HTC bought the company S3 Graphics

Company VIA Technologies has sold its subsidiary, S3 Graphics-known manufacturer HTC smartphones for $ 300 million. Of these $ 300 million VIA receive $ 147 million, while the remaining $ 153 million will go to an investment company WTI, which once helped keep the VIA S3 afloat. The deal has already been approved by the boards of directors of all companies and to complete its planned before the end of the year. Having bought the S3 Graphics, HTC will have at its disposal a portfolio of 235 patents and patent applications in a variety of graphics technologies, including those associated with the visualization, which will give the company a competitive advantage.

  1. And inevitably, the smartphone giant gain better footing in the market with the introduction of products packed with better graphics and all that stuff. They've seen the company's value and potential in helping them gain a competitive. As the company gets bigger, it's interesting to see how the big players will react to this.
